HISTORY

Long Creek Rail was established in 2012. It has 41 miles of former Canadian Pacific Railway track. The line begins at Estevan and continues west to Outram, Torquay, Bromhead, and ending at Tribune.

Long Creek Rail purchased their first locomotive in 2013, and was subsequently repainted to bring a fresh look to the new addition.

Currently 90% of the freight is grain, although frac sand is a growing segment of its business. Other revenues derive from storing rail cars, mainly oil and asphalt tankers. There are plans, despite market conditions, to revive oil and gas shipments via the line.
